Helldivers 2 Gameplay - Uma visão geral

There is one currency – Super Credits – which can be bought with real money, but developer Arrowhead Game Studios has insisted that the stuff this buys (mostly body armour and helmets) isn’t necessary for progression, and you can earn Super Credits in the game anyway. I’ve certainly not felt the need to buy anything while levelling up over many, many hours of play.

The trailer opens like a galactic military recruitment video and showcases the game’s brand new third-person gameplay, teasing much more intense battlefields compared to the first game.

We can actually blow away individual bits off each enemy, taking off limbs with small arms fire - or obliterating them with artillery fire. I loved the physics here - especially in aggregate, when the frame is just filled with physicalised objects, particles, and disintegrating enemies. Buildings can be destroyed in dramatic fashion when hit by airstrikes or blown up with a well-placed grenade, and the terrain deforms too under the barrage. Helldivers 2 is a unique and visually interesting console title, so how do the performance and quality modes stack up? The most obvious split comes down to resolution. The performance mode runs at 1080p, while the quality mode steps up to approximately 1728p. Both modes counted at those figures in every shot I tested, so there are pelo signs of dynamic resolution as far as I can tell. In stationary shots, the difference between the two is obvious.

Troopers are little more than guns with legs, base caricatures of consciousness fused to machine guns and rocket launchers. Unlike Super Earth, the bots seem to believe that strapping heavy weaponry to expendable cannon fodder is the solution to every problem. Commissar

Just like in Helldivers 1, you’ll have access to a variety of different weapons and stratagems. Optimize your loadout for the situation you expect to be in. If you’re expecting heavily-armored enemy units, ditch the regular assault rifle and go for laser weapons, explosives, or call in an airstrike with your stratagems.

’s success. Along with the ridiculous barks, like a spray of bullets followed by a “taste democracy” scream, Helldivers 2 also employs gaming’s most eternal comedy gimmick: ragdoll physics. Sometimes a Charger (the aptly named bug that charges at you) will blast you 100 feet to safety completely on accident, or maybe your squadmate misplaced a grenade and you see their newly limbless body whip across the screen at the speed of sound.

Plus, you get to see the hideous bug creatures and murder-loving automatons closer than ever before, which is a nice bonus – each faction had lots of variety too, from chainsaw-armed androids who slowly closed in for the kill to heavily-armored beetles who charged at me with reckless abandon.

Why doesn’t this get tired really quickly? Because Arrowhead has concentrated all its design attention on making every facet of the experience minutely enjoyable. The guns feel chunky, varied and impactful, every direct hit is accompanied by a tidal wave of insect goo or tangled metal, the sounds of missile strikes and napalm blasts are like fiery symphonies of destruction. This is a game that truly understands the value of intense, disproportionate feedback.

makes perfect sense as the basis for a video game — even if it spent a few years with the original novel’s jingoism being mistaken as an endorsement.

This means that if you were to buy the game on both PC and PS5, your levels and unlocks won't transfer between them — even if

Although you can take on missions alone, it’s better with three other players – this is very much a co-op experience. Everyone gets a set of primary and secondary weapons – which means shotguns, SMGs, assault rifles and pistols – as well as grenades. During combat however you can also call in Strategems, special weapons and items ranging from orbital missile strikes to defensive shields and automated machine gun turrets.

I’m not gonna lie. It’s been a while since Helldivers 2 Gameplay I’ve played the first Helldivers game, and this one blows it out of the water. The transition to third-person is absolutely perfect for the game, and leaning more into the parody of enlisting in the military makes it even better.

Something that's important to note, though, is that only the amount of mobs is affected by this scaling. The types of units that spawn are still the same, as that's dictated by the difficulty you choose to play on.
